Lunches are provided at a cost of $27 for a two course main meal plus tea/coffee, except for the December Lunch when a Christmas Pudding course is added, for $30. Meal costs may be reviewed from time to time.
Drinks are available at Club Bar prices.

Speaker: Raymond (Ray) Grigg – Retired Senior Executive
Raymond G Grigg retired from GM in April 2004 following 47 years of service. He commenced his work life at Holden as a Trainee Draftsman in Engineering in 1957. Following a number of roles in the Design and Drafting area, he then played a major role in the early, and then ongoing, development of the 1978 Holden VB Commodore which was based on the then new Opel V-Car. He then moved full-time into Product Planning and Program Management, where he held a number of senior roles including Director of Planning, and then into Operations and Manufacturing. Again he held a number of very senior positions including Director of Product Quality Assurance, General Manager of Operations, Director and Member of the Board and Director and Board Member of United Australian Automotive Industries (UAAI). Following his departure from Holden in 1994 Ray went on to numerous senior executive leadership positions covering 3 regions of the world and retiring from GM as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GM Japan.
In 1993, Ray was President of SAE Australasia and a Fellow of SAE International. Also a fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.
Following his retirement Ray has held many leadership positions in a significant number of organisations covering both the Public and the Private sectors and including roles as varied as Mayor of Walkerville to Non-Executive Director of Elder’s Ltd.
Born in Melbourne in 1941, he attended numerous International Management Programmes following his education at Swinburne University of Technology. He resided in SA from 1986 until heading overseas in 1994. He returned to Adelaide in 2004 and then back to Vic in 2019.
Ray’s address “Life after Holden” will cover the period of time following his departure from GMH in October 1994.
He will focus initially on his activities within General Motors International Operations covering the period from 1994 to 2004, then moving on to his activities in the Public and Private sector from 2004 until today. He will outline the learnings and business expertise from GM which he carried into the Automotive Components and mobility sectors and diverse fields such as hospital and medical administration, disability service and local government.
